Racing Team Nederland will enter the four-race IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup in 2022.

The 2021 FIA WEC LMP2 Pro-Am Champions Dutch team will bring their TDS Racing-supported effort to the USA for Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta.

The drivers will again be team owner Frits van Eerd and Giedo van der Garde. New to the team is the young American driver Dylan Murry. In addition, Dutch IndyCar driver Rinus VeeKay joins Racing Team Nederland for the ROLEX 24 at Daytona.

Frits van Eerd: “Since we won the world title in 2021, the timing of this new challenge is perfect. I have loved racing in the wonderful FIA WEC, but I have always said that at some point I would like to take Racing Team Nederland to IMSA as well. I studied in the USA and attended IMSA races back then. So, to now do these four famous IMSA races is really a dream come true for me. At the beginning of 2021 we did the ROLEX 24 at Daytona already. That was a fantastic experience and I am very happy to go back for the complete Endurance Cup series.”

Giedo van der Garde: “After winning the world title this year, this is a great sequel. Racing in America is always a fantastic experience and after our debut in the ROLEX 24 at Daytona we only became more enthusiastic. I am really looking forward to the coming season!”

Dylan Murry: “Being part of Racing Team Nederland is a great opportunity for me. I can’t wait to do my first race in the Jumbo car in Daytona and hope we can win races this year and fight for the title.”

Dylan Murry will make his debut in LMP2 after a strong IMSA season in the LMP3 category. Frits: “We race in America now, so as our Silver ranked-driver I wanted a young American talent on the team. Dylan is fast and he also already knows all the circuits that we will race on this year.”

Rinus VeeKay: “It is great that I will get the chance to do the ROLEX 24 at Daytona with Racing Team Nederland. It has always been my dream to one day race together with Frits, who has been my loyal sponsor for many years already. I love it that this dream will now come true!”

Veekay will race in the 2022 ROLEX 24 at Daytona prior to his third season in the NTT IndyCar Series. Frits: “Since he went to the USA as a 16-year-old talent five years ago, I have been involved in Rinus’ career. The fact that we are now going to race together at Daytona is of course a wonderful new chapter of what has already been a great story so far.”

John Doonan (President IMSA): “All of us at IMSA welcome TDS Racing and the JUMBO branded LMP2 team to the 2022 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup. It was always the vision of our founders – the Bishop Family and the France Family – to have the best teams, the best cars and the best drivers from around the world compete at IMSA races like the ROLEX 24 at Daytona, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, the Sahlen’s Six Hours at The Glen, and Motul Petit Le Mans. Clearly, having high-caliber programs like the No. 29 team join the IMSA Family for these four prestigious events on the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship calendar is very special and we wish them all the best in their efforts.”
